Missing covers
Looking down the oil filler tube i noticed this morning that i can see through the bell housing in two places - one looks like the flywheel is visible.Shouldn't these be covered with some sort of rubber covers?Theres also a smaller hole which isn't visible in the pic which looks blanked off.

No, they don't have covers on mine.
I just covered it temporarily with duct tape to keep some bolts and nuts from getting in there while servicing the reference sensor.

Strange that, because they're quite large - i'll have to be more carefull topping up the oil so's nothing goes in there.

They are there so you can monitor the eventual disintegration of the hockey puck center of the clutch disc. Clever, those German engineers...
