Quick question...
Has anyone ever seen "rial" wheels on any watercooled porsche's? My friend just got a set that we think came off like a 944 or 951 maybe. They have black centers...
Front- 7x16 Rear- 8x16 *Made in Germany very nice wheels..... let me know if youve seen them. -Pendleton

They look like BBS knock-offs to me.

I've seen similar rims when I lived in Germany. I don't recall the center caps though. I've seen 'em on several 944's there, but I'm sure they weren't from Porsche. I think they had 225/45-16 & 245/40-16 rubber which was pretty common.
I think the tire size combo is ideal though. I have a 225/45-17 front and 255/40-17 rear but I lose a little more acceleration than my buddy who ran that 225/245. I also knew a guy who tried 18's on his 944 but they really ate up HP. |

I met a chap in the summer with a '80's 911 flatnose with gold bbs alloys similar to the ones in this thread. When i asked him about it he reconed that apparently in the '80's porsche were doing an option whereby you could have absolutely any "one-off" things done to the car of your choice but obviously for a price. The original owner had asked for the bbs alloys to be out on when it left the factory.
