i got a universal bosch o2 sensor a while back, looked closely yesterday and saw i have a 3 wire o2 sensor, the one i have is the single wired one
where can i get a 3 wire o2 for fairly cheap? local store has a universal 3 wire for $73.99 and pelican lists it at $130ish i need one fast.. putting my 944 together is turning out to be quite the PITA

ok so i went to get bosch o2 sensor #13913, it comes with a connector piece, the guy who worked there was hassling me about buying it saying how it might not work, etc. etc. if i do get this (should i?) do i cut the connector off and splice the wires to the factory wires??
the o2 i was looking at, has 3 wires, 2 white and one black. how do i know which wire on the o2 crimps to the factory wire? is this the suggested replacement route? the o2 was only $30ish so if this will work out ill head down and get it.

if you didn't already know, the only difference between the 3 wire and the 1 wire sensor is that the 3 wire comes with a built in heater, immediately bringing the sensor up to operating temperature instead of needing to wait for the exhaust to heat it up.
the black/green wire carries the signal of the sensor, the other two supply heat to the sensor and go to a powersource coming out of your DME (i believe). what is on the car currently?

ok let me see
the black wire is for the actual o2 reading, the two white wires are only to heat it up, so it doesnt matter where the two white ones go. black goes to the black one, white ones go to either of the other white ones, the o2 from the store (13913) will work then if i just splice it then right? just making sure, it seems like every part i have im having trouble with. right?

I think Eldorado's right. In fact, if you live in cooler climes it's better to not have the sensor heater working. I've found my car gets grumpy when the O2 sensor heats up before the engine is warm enough to be leaned out.

Been looking at all the auto parts places in the US and Canada. Can't get one for under $80 except for Ebay. Don't want to spend much just to try. Mine is working but bad mileage so I'm going to try obne and see. There are two 3-wire on ebay at the moment. Bosch and Warner. Both for under $30 Can. including shipping.
