central warning light

Among the headache of tracing electric issues, I was going to write up what I had done so far and get some ideas. Today changes that. I haven't had any warning lights come until this morning the central warning light just flickered a couple times almost like a loose wire and hitting a hard bump. But my suspension is so bangy I don't see that being the case. It would flicker a hell of a lot more when I hit actual bumps, not just cruising a rough interstate.

I guess I'm trying to figure out what that light ties into, how to go about properly locating what the problem is, and more so how to check the codes in the computer? Or can I?

When the light flashed a couple times, I tried to see if any other warnings were with it and I found nothing... but it was very quick, too. It flashed briefly just after I started it, and a set of 3 about 30 miles down the road. Also keep in mind 1/2 my gauges are on the fritz for one reason or another. I haven't gotten that far yet.

Could this be a main ground problem??

check your brake fluid level. there's a float in the cap that makes a connection on the two wires on the cap when the level is full. if the fluid is low the wires loose connection and the warning light comes on.

If the brake fluid is low, it's often tough to see the "brake fluid" light since it's in a place where it's blocked by either the steering wheel or your hands. Which is why there is a CWL..

well the brakes are intermittently spongy. more so, I have a bit more travel than usual. I checked it out though, and for some odd reason the cap was ungodly loose. I tightened it back up of course. It's a touch low... prolly 1/2 between max and min. I'm assuming the loose cap may have triggered it? I never would have thought of this for any reason... that's just crazy. Thanks though, guys!
