Wanted - pics of GT Racing fixed headlight conversion
I've been fighting with my project car, which evidently was involved in a front-end collision at some point in its history and repaired (poorly) by a body shop. To date I've spent HOURS fixing the sloppy repair work, crap weld work, misaligned panels and horrendous overspray. I've almost got it all done now, but I've hit a minor snag - the fitment of the nose header panel was off a little (I got that straightened out so it now fits correctly with proper panel gaps between it and the hood) but there are now issues with the pop-up headlights binding/rubbing against the header, fenders and inside of their wells, and of course the panel gaps are completely off.
I can repair this by expanding the slotted holes in the inner fender for the pivot brackets and by shimming, but I'm considering another option - simply deleting the whole mess and going over to a GT Racing fixed-beam conversion. I'm looking for specific close-up/detailed pictures of how the assembly fits together and sits inside the space between the front header panel and inner fender. Before I go blow $600+ on this setup (which admittedly would look pretty hot too) I want to make sure I'm not going to run into the same kind of fitment problems that are making aligning the pop-up light system such a pain in the butt. GT Racing isn't really being all that much help in this regard either - they simpy give me the old line about "we're just a fiberglass fabricator; we can't guarantee that it will work in your particular application". To their credit, they're right, but it'd still be nice to see some detailed/close-up pictures on their web site on how the heck the assembly fits together. . . Thanks in advance if anyone has photos of this assembly installed and how it goes in.

My experience with GT Racing and fiberglass in general is that the fitment is ballpark...if you're looking to have factory-like gap consistency & straight edges, you'll be dissapointed. Expect a good deal of time getting the fitment acceptable.
Probably the reason they don't show a good image is that "just out of the mold" glass wouldn't be an advantageous marketing tool; if they showed one that looked good, it would mean it had considerable tweaking, not representative of what a customer would get. Some decent pics there. Thanks.
Although going to that site makes me feel dirty. Like I have that "not so fresh" feeling.

I bought their headlight "complete" kit for my 84 and could not believe the poor quality. The "complete" kit had no hardware, instructions, nada. It was the single worst piece I have ever bought for the car. Upon contacting them I git the usual runaround of "you have to make it fit", it's really for race applications not street, blahh, blahh,. blahh
I subsequently contacted Fiberwerks and converted the nose and tail using Karl's kit. After initial trial and error fitting the final result is killer. I have since sold the GT conversion to another Pelican for $25 so he could attempt making something decent out of it. My advice, stay away, far far away. Check out my thread "well the project is continuing" as I am also building up a street screamer using a blower, 2.8 stroker bottom, and lots of other goodies. Fiberwerks, eh? Okay I'll check that out. Thanks for the honest opinion.

I had the set from GT Racing and I was not pleased. They looked great but totally sucked as lights and fit. I had to install a set of PIAA driving lights and make a bracket to get some decent light down in front of the car.
When looking for 924 fiberglass fenders, I came across this set up: http://www.v-zweeden.com/product_info.php?products_id=300 I have no experience with the vendor or this set up but there is probably no way they can be any worse then what GT racing has. From the picture alone it looks like they are were actually designed - not just fabbed up from cardboard.
