Cross member ground wire

I found my wire that I removed from my cross member when I removed my power steering rack. I know one end connects to the sheet screw in the cross member but where does the other end go? It's about 6 inches long. Thanks.

Same type of tapped hole on the steering rack. This is the ground wire for the horn.

When was the last time you changed your timing and balance belts and/or cam chain and tensioner?

You told me it was the ground for the horn but at the time I was convinced the wire was coming from somewhere else under the car. Turns out I found the wire sitting on the floor of my garage. I'm going to go home from work and see if I can find this other hole in the steering rack. It's amazing, I rebuilt the steering rack as well as my entire front suspension several times but sometimes I feel like I'm retarded.

Won't see it til you drop it. IIRC, it's on top of the rack near the input shaft, or there abouts. Why bother though the entire rack is bushed, tap a new ground if need be.

is it going to leak? I don't remember seeing a screw like the one on the crossmember going into the steering rack. To my knowledge it came from a hole with a bolt on it. If this is correct, can't I just connect it to any bolt on the rack? I don't even think my horn worked in the first place...hmmm, I might just leave this one off if grounding the horn is its only purpose.

Mine is connected to a 10mm head bolt (M6) on the front of the rack. There are 2 bolts holding a plate on, and the plate extends to the side and has an extra bolt hole for the ground wire.

After looking at it I realized it's the same bolt that the steering hose uses as a mount. I remembered taking it off of here, all is right with the world again, it's just been a few long weeks.

So if one were to attach the small connector to the crossmember at the treaded boss then move the other end around at it's limit in a big circle you would figure out where it attaches to.
