installing connecting rods

I'm going to install 951 forged connecting rods as I rebuild my 944na. In looking at them I'm wondering which way do the numbers on the stem face. I would think the front of the engine but I want to double check. Or, does it even matter?

thanks.

On the Stock Connecting Rods number (944xxx) faces to the Front. Also the engraved matched number on the End Cap as well as Connecting Rod, face the drivers side.

Which forged ones you get and from where. I'm also looking at upgrading mine soon. Maybe Pauter's.

Thanks, I just bought a set of used 951 rods, which are forged from the factory.

The numbers on the side of the cap and rod need to line up and face opposite the valve reliefs in the pistons and aim towards the drivers side.
