quicky!
1) is the 84 944 a hard line front or NOT a hard line front (with regards to the brake lines)
2) are the standard 944 lines rubber? i.e. will i notice a big difference in brake pedal feel? 3) does the "set of 4" brake lines change the entire system? or just a few parts? in other words, is this replacement worth it?

The flexable hose that comes off the body to the hard line on the strut/caliper is where you may want to put your money. These do have a balloon factor. Not something that you will notice on an 84 944 unless you have changed over to larger calipers -- single or double piston. Otherwise the hardlines on the car are more than adiquate for most use including the larger piston or double piston calipers.
Another item to consider replacing is the rotors. Doesn't have to be cross drilled or groved; just nice and flat and straight.
