oil/air separator location?

I've heard a lot of people saying that oil in the intake system usually means bad oil/air separator seals. I've bought what I think are the right seals (found them on another post) and I want to change them. Could someone please show me which part the separator is (a nice little red arrow on the picture would help a lot!)? I've attacked a picture of my engine bay with the intake manifold removed (beware! looks pretty nasty under there).

Also, what's a good way to remove the oil from the other intake parts (IC pipes, intake manifold, etc.)? Should I take them to a machine shop and ask them to acid dunk them or what?

Thanks all

If you have two o-rings (a little flattened) about 1 1/4"'s in diameter then take off the big black plastic thing under the yellow oil fillter cap.

Hey, I just did this last week !!

The oil separator is the plastic thing that the #710 cap screws on to. Three 8mm bolts. I changed out ALL the rubber hoses, tubing, o-rings and clamps I could find while I had the intake manifold off. The only thing I missed was the oil dipstick grommet. At least that one is easy.

Also rebuilt the throttle body. DGV's are easier IMO.

To clean out the oil, I used a strong solution of Dawn dishwashing liquid an a stiff brush. Don't laugh, it worked like a charm. By the way I did NOT paint my intake manifold red !!

Edik,
Haha, I was thinking "WTH is a #710 cap?" Had to google it.

I'm still stuck on this one...what is DGV?

I'll try using some dishwashing liquid to clean up the area.

Sorry for so many questions regarding this, but I get pretty worried when I start disconnecting hoses and cords. I hope I don't have a problem remembering what connected to what later on.

Anyways, am I actually removing the oil/air separator in order to change the seals or am I just taking off that top part? I've taken off the cycling valve and I intend to disconnect the hoses underneath it to get to the rest of it. Does that sound like the right procedure?

Oh...my...god...I literally spent the last couple hours trying to remove the lower bolt on the AOS from the top without any success. This is ridiculous!

I previously didn't want to take off the downpipe and heat shield, but it's looking more and more tempting.

Has anyone else successfully removed it from the top? I keep reading in previous posts that people have done it, but there's usually no explanation. At this point, I'm practically wondering what exact tools were used to get at it? I've tried everything I've got without any luck!
