Will work for parts

Go to a parts store and buy an oxegen sensor removal tool. It allows you to get an allen or socket in the middle to hold the strut shaft. Make sure you have a spring compressor on the spring if you have stock springs first.

If you are planning on doing the inserts (shocks) I would take the entire strut out first. The two large bolts at the spindle and the four nuts/studs at the top. Once the strut is out you can get the spring compressors on it and have at the top nut.
