951 Caliper rebuilding & painting source?
Anyone know a reputable source to paint and rebuild 951 calipers?
Thanks! |
Some would say you're almost better to pickup a set of calipers as opposed to rebuilding...944 prices being what they are these days that seems to be the way to go with most parts.

The rebuild kits were about $2 per caliper for my 944 and are pretty easy to install. I just painted them with high temp spray paint. I'm sure someone out there offers this service if you don't want to do it yourself.

I think these guys have both http://www.9xauto.com/944.html

Get high temp paint from your local autostore.. its made by Duplicolor.
Buy the rebuild kit from any of the major 944 distributors.. 944Online.com is a good one. Do everything you can to NOT damage the pistons. They are expensive, $20-30 EACH. Times 16 pistons total.. you are looking at about $300 you can save if you are CAREFUL removing them. |
I've got these guys to rebuild (and powdercoat) a pair of problematic TurboS calipers before. Goldline Brakes --- I think I paid close to $200 for the job....
