In the process of installing my new hood on my car after my incident with the old one( it flew open). The hood is a 924 hood the hinges I think came off an '84. No matter what I cant get it lined up. I need the hood to go back about a 3/8" to get the alignment right so it closes. It is slid back as far as it will go. Im at the end of all my bolt slots on the hinges .
I'm stumped! Only thing I can think is, that the hinges are different? Any Ideas?

You can adjust where the hood mounts attach to the body and also where you're doing it - on the hood itself. This is a PITA because there's so much trial and error. Maybe someone here has a quick method. The hinges are the same.

Actually, the part of the hinge that mounts to the body, is a different shape than the original ones. I tossed out the old ones so I really cant compare them, but I can tell by the old paint marks inside the fender. I spent about 2 hours last nite with no luck.
It looks like I might have to enlongate the slots on the hinges.

If you don't have any luck, I've got a pair of 85.5 hinges you can have for the price of shipping if you like. They look like hell but they're in good shape. Lots of overspray.

DO NOT attempt to put a 924 hood onto a 85.5+ 944. It does not line up properly not matter what kind of adjusting you do.
Since your car is an '84, it should be fine.
