Timing belt snap
hi... My timimg belt snapped at just over idle speed... what's the possibilty there's no serious damage?
Just in case the outlook's bad... does anyone on here know of a good place to pick up a 2.5 16v engine in Britain?

Outlook not bad, just bent valves, guaranteed.
Spend about $1500 USD (about 700 GBP) and have the valves replaced, new head gasket, and bob's your uncle. Not worth replacing the motor over... Cheerio!

Well since it is a 16 valve engine I would pull the valve cover and inspect the cross over chain, cam teeth and tensioner.
