I think that the OP is arguing that the factory added re-enforcements from the strut tower to the frame rail for the turbo S models.
I am not certain if my non-s 87 951 has that or not, but I do not recall seeing it on earlier N/A cars. Perhaps that is a year-related modification, custom or otherwise?.... That said, I am not certain that it would have the same effect as a normal strut tower brace, since that only braces it to the frame rail on the same side, which can also flex with the strut tower.

I think he was posting this for my benefit, CJ...something I said in another thread.
lleroyb, I see...I had the wrong idea. I'll look for this on my car next time I get the chance. I'm assuming these strut braces are part of the "sport chassis" option that the turbo-S came with? Thanks for the good info!

I could not see how to post a .jpg without starting a new thread. Sorry about that. As far as I know, only the turbo S spec cars have the braces. It was not an option otherwise. This has born out to be true for all of the cars I have seen so far. I think it is a great way to check for the S spec since it would be hard to retrofit and make it look sanitary.

yes, the turbo "s" had reinforced frame members in the front. no other cars were offered with this to my knowledge. it is an easy way to tell a"s".
