OK, here's an easy one: Water leakage

My 944S@ has developed a bit of a "water feature" in it's drivers side footwell. Surf has been breaking nicely over the clutch pedal, LOL

In a quick look, I found water collecting in the area around the electrical center/fusebox, and the battery on the other side after rains. Moving the car eventually empties the standing water up top, but the floor and carpet remains soaked. And with more rain coming...

Can anyone point me in th right direction? Perhaps a link to a solution, or an explanation? I am thinking that some drain aint draining.

What say the experts?

Thanks

Your have a water drain on each side - closest to the fender. It looks like a little hump in the metal. Make sure that they aren't full of crap (leaves and pine needles love to get stuck in there.

After making sure that they are clean, take a hose and fill up the area and check under the dashboard for leaks. Corrrosion or cracked seams can let water in as well.

I'm troubleshooting some of the same stuff - except mine is in the trunk. Definately check the drains for leaves, that was largely my problem.

check the seals around your power antenna (if you have one)... i've heard of water leaking down along the wire of the antenna and dripping into the footwell.

Thanks guys! I'm on it tonight or tomorrow.

Wipeout, I had the same issues, A PO had cheaped out with the old taillight gaskets and used silicone...and it was applied poorly. It lets a LOT of water in when parked at certain angles. opening the drains is mandatory!

My problem is the driver side back seat - the seat pad itself is soaked, but everything around it is dry. It's as if someone took a bucket and emptied it on the seat. I think I have it figured out but I'm checkin' still - heavy rain expected tomorrow!

Wipeout...mine does this too. The window frame on mine had pulled away from the glass and the rain was running in around the window frame. If you look you will probably be able to see the edge of the glass which should be inside the window frame. Do a search, you will find a thread I started on how to fix it. Tim Hancock helped me figure out how to fix it.

I get a puddle on my driver's side back seat.. comes from a drip-drip-drip from the corner of the sunroof.

if the seal from the rear deck hatch pulls from the body a little bit in the top corners, water will drop right about on the top outside of the pax or drivers side rear seat.

if your looking for a battery compartment fix check this thread ideas for a small hole in battery compartment

Thanks guys. I'll bet it'll get a little wetter tomorrow...

It doesn't seem to be the sunroof, and it doesn't seem like the rear hatch because if I put the seat back down (to give me more storage space) that carpet does not get wet.

What I really need to do is get someone to blast it with a hose while I sit inside. Sounds like a weekend project to me!
