Installing 3-point rear seat belts
I'm looking to upgrade my rear belts from lap to shoulder. I have an 87 944na. I just bought a used set of shoulder belts and I can't figure out how/where the retractable section mounts. I see the bolt hole on the outside part of the seat and the bolt hole near the rear hatch. Where is the other bolt hole. Does anyone have pictures they can post?
Thanks

I too just bought rear three point belts. There are two anchor locations where the stock lap belt are and the third is on the C pillar. I will post when I am done. Good luck,

Bump of a old thread. I am also looking to install the three point rear belts in my 88NA. Can I see a picture or two of someones car that has them.
I called 944 ecology and was told my year 944 did not have the option for three point belts, yet I have searched and read threads here with other 88 944 owners that have them, so..... do they or don't they and how do I tell if mine does or doesn't?

Wow, I haven't thought of this post in a long time. My car didn't have the pre-drilled hole or the panel for it behind the carpet. I had to "go my own way" to install my 3pt belts. Pull back your carpet and you will see a metal panel with a pre-drilled/tapped hole for the large bolt that holds the seat belt retractor. Make a hole in the carpet in the proper spot and the rest is easy. If you don't, you are in for a lot of extra work. I installed mine for the purpose of holding my kids booster seats. Being a concerned parent I also used a 10K lb tie down strap through the back of the boosters so they won't move even if my weld did. Your results may vary. Good luck.

Thanks for the pictures. I'm new to 944 (I'm a 914 guy) I hate to ask, but could I get one more picture just showing the complete back seat and belt? I think I know where you are talking about, but just want to make sure.
Thank you!
