Finally! My own 944!

After dreaming my whole life, and lurking in forums and reading magazines the last two years, I finally got it together to buy my first P-car.

It's a '86 N/A, Zermatt silver, Fr Wilks chip. Originally an US car, but with an Euro engine, imported to Norway in '93. Full documentation, extremely good condition for a 21-year-old car (IMHO)

Happy as can be!

As you can see, it's blessed from above:

Some more:

Gotta love that sticker:

Got full leather seat covers over the part leather seats underneath:

And here's the family on a cool trip this weekend (Wife's not grumpy - she's pregnant... But she loves the car too!)

And what a great handling car it is!

Life's good......

Looks great. I like the rockers and the euro bumper. I wish i could put the Nurnburgring decal on the back of my car without looking like a poser .

Nice looking ride...

Especially that first picture. I know how you are feeling, as I just got my "dream" car a few months ago. What a good feeling to be driving it, eh?

Have fun with it!

Three children...time to sell the Porsche and buy a minivan! LOL. Congrats, there really is nothing like them. I bought one new in 86 and after having one all that time, I still never get tired of looking at them. Enjoy. I'm with Mitsumark, my daughter was pretty young the last time I saw anyone in the back seat. I'm thinking the youngest boy was smiling because he is saying....look at the car I'm getting at 16!

Well, the boys aren't complaining. But my 20-year-old brother-in-law did. His cap stuck out of the sunroof

Not sure about the rockers - will check with the previous owner...

And the sticker - I believe the previous owner took a couple of laps on the 'Ring with the car, so I think it's alright.

Looks like the car is in very good condition.

Just so you know, the front and rear bumper treatments are correct for Europe; in other words, you have a completely-Euro spec car, or someone went to great lengths to make sure that your "U.S." car is identical to European ones. Considering that this would be a fairly large expense for a very small cosmetic change, I think you probably just have a completely European-spec car.

In any case, enjoy it. It looks like a beaut.

EDIT - I just saw the front valence with the foglights, and I guess it is possible that someone went to the trouble to change over the bumpers... so maybe you do have a U.S-spec car. Spending that kind of money to change over the bumpers doesn't make much sense to me... but then again, it wasn't your money, right?

a simple way to tell if it's a euro car is to look at the lights in the back. the euro cars use one more space that the US cars didn't use.

Well, the Euro has amber turn signals behind the front wheels (mine don't), but NOT the red lights behind the rear wheels (mine do)....

So - it's a bastard...

lol... i'd say american car with euro front and rear bumpers, and the euro style front lip without the side markers...

not sure what the laws are like in norway, but you might want to check on having front side markers...

I wonder if your 944 has been improperly jacked, raising the floor in front of the seat. Having seen this, its much harder to fit. I'm 6' 2", and although not overly comfortable, can fit in the backseat. I've had several people back there, and have ridden in other's for trips of decent duration.
