'86 944 Turn Signal Problem

I've got a small problem with the turn signal in my '86 944 that is bugging the heck out of me. When I turn right the signal automatically clicks off after I've made the turn(as it's supposed to), but when I turn left it will not click off and keeps blinking after the turn is made. I've replaced the entire column mounted switch but the problem persists. Is there something else in the steering column that I might be overlooking that could be causing this? Little things like these really get annoying after awhile!
