Driver Side Power Lock - 1988 944

A problem has developed with my central lock system on my 1988 944.

The driver door stopped working. I believe that this may be linkage related but I'm looking for advice from someone here that's familiar with this.

When I push the central lock button, the driver door makes noise but nothing happens. Initially, the lock button on the door moved slightly but now it's not moving at all - I can hear the actuator make noise.

When I use the key in the driver door, the passenger door will lock or unlock but the driver door only moves if I turn the key far enough to move the lock button manually.

When I push the button on my alarm key, the passenger door unlocks or locks but the driver side only makes noise but no movement.

I'm thinking that there must be some sort of linkage between the actuator and the lock button and that may have come disconnected. I had an alarm installed a few months ago and I know that they had the door panel off as they told me that they needed to install a second actuator that the alarm system uses.

Any insight would be appreciated. I'm hoping to get familiar with the setup before taking things apart...........Vern
