custom interiors
Love the 951s.
Hate the cheap looking 70s molded plastic interior parts and what 20 years has done to the leather and plastic interior trim. What have folks done to upgrade these old interiors? Mine need some redoing. I envision a retro look using leather and maybe painted sheet metal. I could also envision individual round guages from a 911, Classic Instrumjents, or from an old motorcycle. While the molded center console and door pockets and ugly speaker grills are functional and long lasting, I would love to see very slightly padded leather on the transmission tunnel as well as the dash. Smooth door panels with maybe some small chrome hardware....maybe a soft pocket on the door panel, but definitely no hard pocket. Perhaps the switch area could be sheetmetal painted to match the body. Has anyone done this? Anybody know where I can find pictures? Last edited by diverdan; 06-12-2007 at 05:59 AM.. |

There is another post on here about the interrior. www.the928leathershop.com does real nice work. I was happy with my order from them. There are some pics in that other post. They say the new leather looks great on the cars.
