side mirrors

my sideview mirror no longer stays in correct driving position,it's loose at its pivit point.something broke inside sounded like a plastic popping. does any one know of a fix?

Here's some info to help with the removal of the mirrors. I don't reall know anything about there except how to adjust them. Maybe when it's apart it's just a loose screw or something.

Clarks has all the info that you need. There is a round bolt that holds the mirror to the base. This bolt has a hallow center that the wires pass thru. It's not that difficult to fix but you have to remove the mirror and disconnect the wires first. This bolt has a 12-point head and cannot be tightened with the wires still in it. If the bold has come completely disconnected, it can be difficult to get back into place as it is spring loaded - I fixed mine but it took all my 200lbs on that bolt to get it started.
