My new dilema
OK I am looking into doing something here and would like some input from others to see if my thinking is correct.
As of now i have the Mule 83 944 s/charged and a nice 87 that is NA. I was going to trnsfer everything over to the 87 when it all got dailed. I have now found a nice 951 that I can get for less than 3K. My dilema is do I get the car and do the crazy boost s/c in conjunction ith turbo on it or keep the mule and put a turbo trans in it and good clutch along with the turbo setup. Points on each car. 951 Good Has good clutch already (centerforce) has turbo trans already has nice Borla exhaust already turbod (factory) misc other better parts more valuable ROI Bad needs some interior pieces (most likely pulled form my 87) needs some bodywork and paint (I can do this eaily) 83 or 87 Good 83 has new paint is already s/charged and runs great is kind of a sleeper very inexpensive at 2100 for a low 14 high 13 sec car Bad is NA and may need a trans when I do the big boost thing eventually will need a performance clutch has early brown interior (not as fond as the late black) I will need some 951 parts for the turbo setup anyway not a good ROI Don't get me wrong I still love the mule but I am seeing a great opportunity to get some good parts for very cheap and a 951 to go with it which wil bring more $$ when I sell it. What does everyone think, and I hope this is ledgible.

thats a hard choice.. If it were me.. Id sell the 86 NA and pick up the 951. I think you are asking for trouble SCing a 951...
But... ANy writeups on the 83? I have an 83 track car that i wanted to SC.... What was the rough cost? Im assuming you had to fab up alot of parts?

Get the 951. You've gone this far already. That's the proper platform to be working on. Move your s/c over to the 951 and kick some crazy a$$! It's turbo, has a good cluth and the exhaust is already done.
What year is the 951?

Dave if you search under my posts you will find a few writups.
I did it for under 1000 dollars and it runs very well. Personally I don't think I'll have any rouble s/c ing the 951 as I have already done it to a std 944 with some great sucess. This will just really push teh envelope of the 951. I am going to go buy it tomorrow. I am going to pull the parts needed to make it perfect from my 87 for the short term and figure out what to do with the other cars later. After runing the numbers around it looks like I'll be into the car for barely over 500 if I were to go out and buy the parts for my car that this car already has. I may be selling the mule soon. Or the 87. Or just put one in storage for my 15y/o ![]()
