One side of balance shaft belt completely gone
I noticed a vibration that would cycle when the engine was running at both stand still or driving. Not noticeable at idle but from between 1500 and 2000 rpm and up. I could feel it through my whole body coming through the pedals to my feet or my hand on the gear shift. I suspected balance belt and sure enough. It now looks like the timing belt. The side that rides the balance shaft sprockets has worn smooth and a rubber like powder is inside the timing covers... What a pisser.

I'll have a beer with ya! I had nearly the same thing happen to me about 2 years ago, except my belt had 9 teeth left on one side.
