944 maybe airflow meter or ecu problem
Hi, i have a 944 2.5 1984 ,which did start and run fine ,but has been not used for some time, i took the fuel pump and airflow meter off to use on another car , i put a new fuel pump back on it and put the airflow meter from the other car back on this one (which was working fine and wasn,t the problem on the other car)now the car won,t start, here,s the question, when i put the meter back on car,i didn,t connect the wiring plug to it and left it for afew weeks and came back to it i forgot i hadn,t connected it and started car , have i blown something in ecu with plug not being connected, it,s the only thing i can think of as pump is working and meter seems to check out ok and was working fine on other car, i have sparkand fuel up to engine, but not any fuel coming out of injectors, any help would be great......

You shouldn't have hurt anything with it unplugged. The DME (ECU) uses a separate idle map when the t/b is in closed position anyway via the TPS switch.
It should start and at least idle. I would guess you have some stuck injectors. Try tapping them with a screwdriver. Then I would drain the tank of any old fuel and put some bg in it if it decides to start. Can u spray some starting fuid into the intake path and get it to fire. Not knowing what u have done to check for the spark and fuel it is hard to diagnose. If it is getting spark your DMEW and refeence sensors are working if you are gettting fuel flow at around 40 psi then the pump is working. Make sure TPS is adjusted properly and working. This only leaves the injectors to at least get it to idle. Don't forget if it has been sitting that long you will need to change your t-belt

your fuel pump will make correct pressure with alsmost any flow, so do not neglect testing fuel FLOW as well; this is crucial on any car that has sat fo a while bc your fusl tank screen could get plugged. my experience, i would clean the screen on ANY car that has sat for a while
