Removing seats

How easy is it to remove the rear seats in a 944

I have the fronts out .. havent tried the rears yet..but the bottoms seem to be glued down or something?

i have an S and an S2 and theyre both coming out tomorrow.. anyone with a tip or pointer please let me know.

The S has a single back seat..the S2 has Dual.. which means they fold down seperately.

Lemme know

The folding seat back is held on by two bolts. The seat bottom can be a pain in the butt to remove as its glued in. Basically remove the cadmium plated clips that are visible when the seat back is removed and you can pull back on the fabric. Work your hand underneath the padding and start pulling!

The rear seats are glued in??? Doh.... So when I have mine recovered what is the best way to put them back in? I would rather not glue them in hehe. That sounds cheezy lol. But if it is the only way what kind of glue do we have to use?

Well.. porsche used some F*KING strong glue on the seats and the carpets.. i just found out..

the top of the seats comes off well easy.. a few screws and done.. the bottoms .. theyre glued down and then on the top wrapped around a piece of the body and clipped in place.

Bah.. great stuff.. not so great to take apart! LOL...

Youre redoing your rears? What colour .. i have a few in great condition if you need some .

I bought a bunch of dark brown leather. So I guess I should probably replace the carpet before re-installing the rear seat too. My car is currently at the body shop getting re-painted. I am staying the original color but having a "wet look" paint job done. I can't wait to see it done. The body man said I can come in on the 14th to examine the job to see if it meets my approval. I have before pictures and will post them along with the new pictures aftr it is done.. He was also supposed to re-do my battery box area in new metal as well. Oh and when it gets out I get to replace the rack and pinon because some Mutton head didnt jack up my car correctly and bent one of the tie rod arms. So now I have a picture of "how to jack up a porsche" that I keep in the car. Lol. Has anyone had anyone jack up ther car and mess anything up yet??? I highly recommend the picture. I got it off of this board.

Has anyone here here designed any plans for a rear seat delete?
