Replacing front struts
I have the opportunity to by a pair of Sachs strut assemblies for an '87-89 944 still new in the box. Would they fit on my '84. Struts are part # 100-722 100-723.

No. The holes where it mounts to the steering knuckle are about 5mm off. I ordered the wrong MY for my 87. I also think that the 87-89 MY are the expensive ones. Yours should be cheaper. The 87-89 MYs have different strut mounts too. Some people talked about drilling them out, but they are too close and holes would would over lap. How much are they asking for the pair of new struts???
