I race on 225/50/15 tires all the way around with lowered suspension with no problems.

My 951, which has 205/55/16 front and 225/50/16 rears, could I run wider tires on the stock Fuchs wheels all the way around (215/55-235/50) or would I be rubbing?
Wouldn't mind a little more grip. I don't want it to understeer like crazy though.

I'm not sure on your turbo Fuchs but I run 17's with 275/40(10") and 255/40(9") and no rubbing. You should be able run 235-45 and 245-45/16 on yours if you wanted.

I'll be autocrossing tomorrow with a couple of guys that use 245 both front and rear. One has a 951, the other is driving my old S2.
No rubbing. |

Hi! I´m happy to have this issue up again. My Owners Manual tells me to use tires of 185x70x15 or 215x60x15 for my 84-944 na. That makes a profile height factor of 129 mm so to have right speed reading all the time. I din´t have that profile (less) and I was overtaken by so many cars this summer so I had simply to make some calculations. Results made 117 mm in front which is 90% of 129 mm. So I guess that running at 100 km/h on the speedo
meter made only 90 in reality. No wonder I was overtaken! Now I´ve put on 195x65x15 front and 215x60x15 rear. Hopefully this will give me a OK speed reading coming summer, she is on jacks now. ------------------------------ Lapponia |
