Aftermarket Alarm Issue

I bought my 87' 944 back in May that has an aftermarket alarm system in it (Car-Pio). Over the summer I had issues with the fuel pump which I know is wired in with the alarm. I had the car sent in regarding the fuel pump, which I believe was bypassed concitering I can start the car with the alarm going off.

My real issue now is that my key fob doesn't disarm the car, so when I open the door/start the car the alarm goes off. The light on my fob works when I push the button so I really don't think its dead. I tried disconnecting the battery to see if that works but only just trips the alarm again.

Does anyone have any idea what the deal is? Can I get a new fob programed?

-Thanks.

I'd pull the alarm. They cause nothing but problems.

Car won't start, battery drains quickly, etc.

Have you tried replacing the battery in the key-fob? I have had key-fobs with low batteries that would light the LED on the key-fob but not operate the alarm. It's a cheap and easy thing to try.

first off your fuel pump isn't going to be tied to your alarm. What you may be confusing it with is the starter kill. Completely seperate. Sounds like you need to have the alarm re-learn your key fob. Who installed it? If it was done by someone before you, call around to local stereo shops and see if they can reprogam it, or see if you can find an install manual online.

If for some reason the fuel pump is connected to your alarm, I would remove it. Whoever installed it didn't do it right, so who knows what else isn't correct.

Thanks for the responses guys. Yes I did mean the starter kill, I apologize for that.

I'm going to be trading my 944 + some beans for a 91' S2. Hes going to be stripping mine for parts so the problem doesn't matter anymore.

Thanks
LOCK.
