Thumbs up Spring replacement follow up

I recently posted that I was going to replace my front springs and struts myself on my '84 944 . I received alot of good advise and options on how to go about it. I chose the method that did not require a spring compressor or an alignment afterward. I loosened the strut nut with an impact wrench, raised the car disconnected the sway bar from the control arm. The spring had absolutely no load once the front wheel was off the ground. The strut was swung out of the wheel well and I replaced the spring and strut insert. I have never done this job before, I did one side in under an hour.
Thanks to all for the tips. This method worked for me, but as always follow
a procedure that you feel is most beneficial and practical for you.
