Wires under the Hood???

OK, I am trying to get all the lines and wires run under my 944. I have the N/A 86. I found 2 wires just in front of the Fuse box and behind the 2 valves. They seam to be right next to the Metal ring that is on the fire wall. Both wires are brown with connector tips on the ends that look lite they were a part of a connector. I know this is a shot in the dark, but wanted to see if anyone knew what they were for, or if there was something missing in that ring on the fire wall, or if they were wires to the Hood light (Mine has no power going to it when the hood is open) If anyone can help out< LMK I really can to trace on the wireing diagram, looks like they run in the dash area, but not 100% sure. And if anyone knows where the switch is for the hood light, LMK I would like to try and get that fixed as well. Thanks Mike

That is the area where the hood light switch is. Hood light is actually attached to the hood itself.

The hood light is installed and the wires go to the connector that joins with the heated wiper fluid sprayers. Cool, I really appreciate it. Thanks Mike

Looking at your pic, it is at the top right corner, where the bracket is with the hole in it. That is what I have on my car, and that is the are where the 2 wires are that have the connector ends on them. One wire is all brown and one wire is brown with a black line. Thanks for the help.

I will take a look tonight. It may be related to the factory alarm. If I recall, on my car, I have some wires there that go to nothing and they are for the hood alarm switch - but, since my car did not come with the factory alarm - the wires are not used.

I'll look tonight and post a better photo tomorrow.

I couldn't find any extra wires on my car. Here's what mine looks like:

Sorry, this one is blurry:

Could the wires you are looking at be the wires for the Brake Fluid Reservoir?

How about the DME test plug? I don't remember how many wires come off of that....might be 3 or 4, but that's about the right area.

Well, I am still at a loss? The pics are correct in the area of the wires. Had a few people tell me that that are is where the factory alarm is installed? Everything else on the car is working correctly and hooked up. Does anyone hava picture of the Hood light switch? I ahve been looking at a few wiring diagrams and I can not pinpoint the area where the switch is. I can see where the wires form the light go to the plug in the hood that has the heated wiper wires as well. LMK if anyone can help out. I know it is not a huge issue, but I just don't like being in the position of not knowing something that dosent work! Thanks everyone for the help, Mike

I went out and looked at mine - that round hole up high in the picture (right on the fire wall) has a plunger/switch in it, which is pushed down when the hood is closed. Since it's my understanding that the light has a mercury switch in it, that must be a part of the factory alarm.

Should be part #9 here: http://www.pelicanparts.com/PartsLookup/HTML/944_2_USA_85_88_KATALOG/909-00-Frame3.htm
