flex hose size from brake reservoir ??

can anyone tell me the correct size (od & id) of the flex weave hose that runs from the brake fluid reservoir fitting to a nipple on the firewall?

might be just an overflow drain?

it's about 10-12 inches long

the exploded parts diagram on pp doesn't show it (that I can identify)

car is 87 944S

thanks
Bill K

thanks
my younger son just got a hold of his brothers 944S that had been on the west coast (idle) for the last 5 yrs, & I'ver been going thru it to get it road worthy.
I thought the blue color was the hi-temp brake fluid seeping through.
Did not know the hose innards are blue, but will replace anyway.

any tips on replacement?
will a hose replacement introduce air into the system to the point I will have to bleed the system?

thanks

you can minimize air intro by, and yes this can get messy
-have rags under the hose to catch any spillage
-have a helper depress the clutch pedal and brake pedal simultanously
-replace the hose and use new clamps, leave bottom clamp loose
-make sure res is full and loosen lower clamp and let fluid gravity drain out the bottom of the hose to get the air out, dont let the res go empty!
tighten and release the pedals

my theory behind this is that the return stroke of the pedals will force back any residual air into the res where it can escape

also a nice time to go to the super blue fluid with a brake system flush....

www.*****************.com also has it. I believe it's known as "the illusive blue hose" due to the fact you can't find it at any parts store or dealership.

It helped alot for me to suck out most of the brake fluid from the reservoir with a vacuum bleeder. Much less fluid mess.

I bought a hose from the ebay link and installed it today.
Suggestion - prefit both ends to a similiar size nipple to stretch the inner diameters a bit before attempting to fit on the firewall nipple.
what a pita

thanks for all the input
