N/A Valve Springs vs. Turbo Springs

Does anyone know why the valve springs for the 944 n/a cost about double the valve springs for the Turbo.

I've checked a few sources and its about the same everywhere.

I would think that the turbo valve springs would be better du to the additional stress added on the engine.

And, if replacing valve springs on an n/a, do people go with the turbo springs fro any reason.

Just wondering......................Vern

Good question, I just Got a JME camshaft and upgraded to 951 springs, when I was buying the springs I thought that was very odd that they are cheaper then the NA, Not sure why, One would think since they are stronger springs they would cost more, Maybe the 951 springs are used in some other make/model making them easily avalible?

I don't know the answer to your question, but I have a complete set of used 951 valve springs that are within spec. If you are interested PM me.

i am betting that the turbo springs are used on another application. the 928 comes to mind.

I also have wondered why the price difference was that way. Because the differences in the two different sets of springs are minimal. Only the outer spring for the turbo set is different, the inner spring is all the same on all sets. The outer Spring on the turbo set is slightly higher (Relaxed), and has a higher tension rate - I have the specs and have read them long ago so I do not remember the exact numbers on the different springs, but they are minimal enough to be used on all models of 944's (Turbo and NA's). - - Go figure??
