rearview mirror delete

I installed a Wink mirror today, but can't figure out how to remove the old rearview from the windshield.
OK...I only tinkered with it for a minute since the way my lucks been going I surely would have cracked the windshield, so I thought I'd go fishin for tips first.

1) Grab Mirror.
2) Pull Down.

*Note: Don't do this on a cracked windshield >_<

Long mirror (actually a series of mirrors) that gives you almost 180 degree rearview, bulky for daily use but great for the track.
been around for decades, about 20 bucks at any parts house.

Was hoping to leave the mount glued to the windshield if possible in case I have to restore the OEM mirror.

I can't remember if the early is same as the late. Mine slid off of the mount. I had to pull towards the roof. I too have a wink mirror and wouldnt trade it for anything.
