How much should this stuff cost?

I know shop prices vary, and I know that I could do all of this MUCH cheaper if I do it myself...BUT there are SO many things that COULD be wrong and now i'm out of time and need this car running SOON. So I know there could be a TON of things wrong but here are the 4 most likely causes. If any of you guys can just take an educated guess at what I might be paying for any of this, that'd be great. 1. TPS 2. MAF 3. Fuel filter/ pump 4. Injectors of course it could be something completely different. I'm thinking about letting my porsche guy tell me what exactly is wrong and then buying the part and doing be labor myself...but if he's going to charge me to look at it, and I'm going to pay the same for the part as he is, I might as well just let HIM do it RIGHT as long as it's not like 500 in labor or something crazy like that. Also for some reason my windshield wipers won't go off and last night I couldn't get my headlights to pop/stay up. Thanks for the input, matt Last edited by jacketfan89; 11-09-2009 at 06:38 AM..

Well the headlights were fine two days ago...and the wipers were fine. All I did was the clutch and all of this crazy stuff is happening. Is it possible that all of this stuff is connected? Car randomly dying...bad acceleration and malfunctioning headlights and wipers? I'm more concerned about the running problems than the headlights and wipers. That's stuff I can take a little more time and fix myself.

if i had to take a stab, and you were using a shop to do it, and they could clean and not have to replace the MAF and injectors, i'd say about $500 no clue on the electrical issues though - that's a potential black hole

If he is a Porsche guy I would look more at the $500 mark... Now all of those can be changed in an afternoon fairly easily....

So should I let him tell me exactly what's wrong and if it's relatively easy, just do the work myself?

Matt, How did the battery test? A low voltage battery will send more amps to the electrical components and burn them out. How is the alternator output? I would begin at the very beginning. Recheck/clean the starter cable connections. I know you did check the bell housing grounds. How did the cable look? Was the rubber/plastic sheilding cracked by the bell housing? Was the cable corroded with acid at the bell housing? How are the battery connections and the small wires on the positive connector? Have you done a resistance check on the reference sensors per Clarks? Are the sensor connections on top of the engine OK? Any wire cracks or cracked plastic. Are the pins inside straight and tight? You were on top of the engine working on the sensor. Repeat the position you were in and look around by your knees, elbows, feet and waist for things you could have crushed or jarred loose.
