ref. sensors

hi all ,
having a start prob with my 89 s2 it cranks and cranks and cranks then splutters into life ,runs perfect other than this . while snooping around last nite i discovered that i only have 1 sensor on top of the bell housing the 1 nearest the fire wall is missing !!!!! p.o or some 1 removed it maybe why??
would this have something 2 do with the starting issue
tks for any input much appreciatedSmileWavy

S'es and S2's I have found out only use a single reference sensor; they get the reference signal from a missing tooth on the flywheel.

I would check your fuel pressure regulators; I had a hard start problem when those started dying on me.

Good luck,

Keith

If the fuel pressure checks out, how are the spark plugs?
