Removing the OPRV
I'm some trouble unbolting the OPRV on my 87 944S. I tried removing the passenger wheel for easier access, but can't seem to break the OPRV loose. Any suggestions?
Thx |
Use a 24mm (if i remember it right) with a 1/2" universal drive and extension extending out to clear the front bumper and a cheater bar. No need to remove the wheel.

i'll give that a shot, thanks man! for such a low torque bolt, it's a b*tch to get out. :-)

Pretty sure it's a 17mm. Other than that, just keep trying. The more extensions/swivels you try and use, the let applied torque you will have. Minimize!!

Once removed, change both the outside and inside "O" rings on the one piece OPRV.

spray some wd40 on it and work it with a wire brush. mine was baked on from the outside and stuck to the block.

I had one so bad I changed the housing because that was easier than getting the OPRV retainer off.
