Porsche Crest 944 strut mount issues

Hey all, on my '83 944 i have a knock in my front right strut, i've noticed that th e upper mount itself sits higher and looks looser than the opposing one. From what I've read, the likely culprit is a rubber spacer. I've had trouble finding this piece and was wondering if there may be an uprated part or better way of fixing this. I've found Solid metal upper strut mounts on 944online.com would these solve my problem? any response will be helpful, thanks.

You mean THIS?

Might as well do both, and might as well also change out your strut inserts while you have it apart. . .I doubt the noise is coming from the rubber mount.

I think he means the little piece of foam they put around it where the mount attaches to the body. I've never replaced this and doubt highly that it's your problem.

Have you tried torquing down the mount?

What exactly are you contemplating hitting with an air gun? I don't suppose you could post a pic of what the hell you are talking about.
