Cylinder head rebuilding and upgrading update
Well, I'm still waiting on a couple of sensors to get the engine dyno up and running to test HP data from the cylinder heads that I have port matched and polished, but the numbers from the flow bench are positive.
Flow testing a stock port with the valve at full lift (standard NA cam) shows a flow rate of 178-181 CFM (depending on day and humidity) The ports that have been port-matched and polished flow 224-226 CFM. I am happy with the volume increase, but will see if I can squeeze any more through it! I am having an issue measuring the actual velocity of the flow as my air speed sensor maxes out at 300 FPS. I'm not overly concerned at this point with the velocity numbers though since I am seeing a worth-while volume increase. The test engine is all ready to go with a stock head as I type. I have an early harness and DME currently, but am planning on picking up a late harness as well to also test aftermarket chips down the road (don't look for this data til January!) Current inventory looks like this: 2 rebuilt stock NA heads 1 rebuilt port-matched and polished NA head 1 rebuilt port-matched and polished NA head with steam vent port 1 rebuilt stock turbo head I'll be using this thread to post more data as it becomes available.
