S2 sensor
I have just installed a '91 S2 engine in my '87S. On the new engine there is a sensor, with two electrical connectors, on the underside of the intake manifold. Does anyone know what it is for and how it is connected?

Hi Sigurd,
Can you send a pic or narrow it down for me. Is it attached to the intake manifold or just underneath? I don't see anything different than the S, temp sensor, two knock sensors and the idle control valve, but it may be out of my sight. If it helps, I have both the cars you are talking about 87S and 91S2. Good luck! |
Thanks. I'll be on it on Sunday.
I must say, there is a definite improvement in torque with the newer engine. |
Cool! Didn't realize that it was up and running. The sensor can't be THAT important then right?! You will LOVE the 3.0! It is a blast!

I'm sorry but I was not able to take a picture. However, I found the sensor on the PET, (944 606 137 00) where it is called "temperature switch for intake manifold". In the wiring diagram there is a sensor called "switch intake pipe cooling" Could it be the same?
