Haha! "That 944 looks just like an old LTD or something! Oh, it's the one on the left, never mind."

Yeah, it's certainly not priced like he needs it gone asap. I have a feeling he'll be keeping it for a while.

So he can get "talked down" to the 2500-3k he actually wants for it...

Actually looks pretty well taken care of based on the pics, too.

2500-3k would be those "bs low-ball offers" he specifically says he doesn't want.

True, possibly. However, the asking price isn't stupid out there if the car's in good condition. The range of values for these cars is crazy, and very geographically-dependant. I picked mine up for $1800 primarily because the guy was not the most brilliant about taking care of cars. I've put a few hundred into it and it's like driving a different car (cosmetically and mechanically).

From the market I've seen around here.. $5500 would be way too much even for an '83 in really good condition but, 2.5-3k, definitely. For $5k it would have to be a later car for me.

It's tied for the dumbest thing I've read today. The other is from USA Today, with the headline "Catholic cardinals elect new pope."

Good thing it wasn't the St Louis Cardinals...

I get the feeling that you haven't tried to sell much on the ole Craigslists.

I'm sure someone has offered him a Ramcharger and $750. Or maybe a TV. THAT'S your typical CL lowball.

Do ya think you could transplant the Landau (sp) top on the one on the right to the one on the left? Nah, would look like a bad comb over...

I've bought and sold quite a few vehicles there... I've had many stupid trade offers but, never really stupid numbers like $800 for a $6k car.
