Fitting a 944Turbo Nose on a NA

I may upgade my non-turbo to a turbo with engine and front bumper cover. Can you cut the front fenders to fit a turbo nose (bumper cover)??

Me thinks you may want to get the fenders. and the center panel from a 951. I also think there is a bit more needed to make the conversion like the supports under it but you had better let others chime in on this it has been a really long time since I too a 951 nose apart. Have you used the search function? I seem to remember there being several threads about this over the years.

So Halik, I noticed on your maroon car you did replace the headlight covers and front panel - why was that? For the fenders you just kept grinding until you had the right shape, is that correct?

They're all different, without the headlight and nose panels, there will be a big gap. Also i folded/rolled the edges of the fenders. If you just cut them, it will end up looking goofy imo.

You obviously have some fab skills there. For us that don't really want to cut and roll the fenders I assume that the answer is to get a front clip and it then becomes a bolt on.

I would like to make the conversion on my car some day.

You don't need an entire front clip, just the fenders, header panel, and headlight covers.

An entire front clip would include the front "frame" rails and everything else forward of the firewall. You have cutting and welding and such to do in that case.

And yes, Halik does have incredible skills. I've seen some of the other work he's done.

When I said front "clip" I meant the sheet metal not the d
frame motor etc. Although at that point you could install the turbo motor.

I have a question. I have the 924s with out the flairs so i would definitely need the fenders. What would happen to my wheels. I think they would end up sitting way inside the wheel wells. This may look goofy. Wheel spacers may be in order. Then I would have the wool non flared rear of he car. I think this would be a better option of a 944 not a 924s

My '84 has a 951 nose. Unfortunately it was done by the previous owner and the records aren't complete so I can't offer up any info on how-to, just that it can indeed be done.
