944 S2/968 diagnostics software in va??

Does anybody have a diagnotics tool/ software that will work on a 944 S2 to reset the airbag light in northern VA?? Would you mind lending/renting it out for a quick reset of my airbag light?? :D

Thanks,
James

I think that the later models can only be done at the dealer.... unless someone has the magic tool you are looking for.

Good luck!

I just reset mine using the info from Clark's garage. Look for the white molex connector (should have a red rubber cover over it) in the right foot well.

The magic tool is the Bosch Hammer, an early diagnostic tool. Typically, the 1991 and newer cars are the ones that need it.

As Greg states, Clarks Garage has a nice writeup on resetting the airbag light on the 1987 to 1990 cars. Requires a jumper wire and a watch with a second hand.

Did your light stay out after reset?? I wonder why this happens? I am going to give the clarks garage thing a try today. Ill post my outcome. I actually was planning to do that already and could not find that little molex connector until this morning after diggin way up under the dash.

JW,
Initially no. I learned how to read the fault codes (Clark's Garage) luckily diagnosed the issue and bought a part from George at 944 Ecology (quick shipment and nice to deal with). The light is off but I have not had any time driving, working on cruise control issues. As a matter of fact a fellow PCA member has donated his Cruise Control brain (I think mine is bad but not sure). I'll know more this weekend as I hope to have most issues resolved by then.
