Need help disabling alarm on 944S2...
The alarm on my 1991 944S2 drains the battery in three days. Leave the doors unlocked and the battery is fine. Lock it, battery dies.
I've read the 944 manuals and wiring diagrams, got the article from Clark's Garage but found the connector is very different than described, and then heard of two alarm relays that may be removed but can't locate them. So, could anyone tell me how I may disable the alarm on this car? I'd like to find out what's draining the power, but right now I need a car to drive. thanks, Bryan |

Have you tried removing and putting a jumper on the alarm module?
It looks to be the same/similar module in the S2 as it is in the other cars: 928.637.104.05 for you, '88's use .04's. Clark's has the details about jumpering it out of the system. It looks like this: ![]() and is right with the DME in the passenger footwell. Good luck, Keith

I just wanted to tell you that the procedure on clarkes for bypassing the alarm does not work on the 928 part number. I almost burned my cars wiring harness up doing this. I have talked to several other people with the same result. I have been unable to locate the proper way to bypass it. I had been fighting a no start issue for over 3 years that just kept getting worse and worse. I pulled the case off the module and there are two relays inside i took a lil peice of plastic and stuck in between the contact of the relay on the right side and fixed it. That of course is not a permanet fix but Im able to drive my car again. But do not use the jumpers unless you like pullig apart a ball of melted wires it wont be pretty.

The alarm module in mine has 928.618.260.00 on it with one black connector and one yellow connector. The pins are very different than the Clark's guide.
Unless someone knows how to jumper this module, I think the easiest route will be to open the module and modify the relays as My. 944 described below. There's mention of removing two alarm relays to disable the system. I wonder if they're talking about removing those from inside the module? Bryan |
