While removing the swaybar to provide better access to the rack's attaching hardware, I discovered something interesting.
Following the procedures at Clark's Garage, Step 2.3 states, "Use the 17mm wrench to remove the nut attaching the sway bar to the control arm on each side, and remove the sway bar. With a screw driver, loosen the clamps on the alternator cool air intake tube and remove it also. You should now have a clear path to the steering gear shaft and universal joint clamp." On my car, however, there was no 17mm nut that attached it. Instead, there was a pair of 13mm bolts holding the swaybar in place. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1236679892.jpg The previous owner of this car, white944cup, had upgraded to a 22mm swaybar, and I'm assuming the different attach point type is a result of that upgrade, is this correct? Not really an issue, just an observation I found interesting. Randy |
That is what I have.
Nice work! I read the other post and I see you have no leaks! WTG. John_AZ |
Thanks, John! I have to admit, I was pleasantly surprised when the garage floor remained dry. I just now walked outside and took another look, after letting her sit static for a few hours and still, not a drop to be found. Who the hell ever heard of a 25 years old Porsche that didn't leak? LOL
Well, there IS that drip coming from the rear main, but I suppose I can live with that....for now ;) All that's left for this job is to replace that stripped tie-rod end, install the belly pan and take her for an alignment. After that, it's drive, drive, drive! Randy |
