fuse box upgrade
i have an 1984 944 and was wondering if it would be possible to upgrade my fuse and relay box from my old style fuses to a newer style 944 type and relocate it to under the hood? or even still under the driver footwell but just upgraded? what would this take? would the stock wiring harness even reach that far for it?
i would think removal of the dash would be necessary. |

You'd need a generous length of the doner fusebox's loom but I don't see why your existing loom going to the fusebox couldn't be spliced with some quality snap connectors. There would probably be the odd quirk regarding fuses for upgraded options etc in the new box but nothing that couldn't be figured out with the aid of some proper wiring diagrams.
I would definitely remove the dash to give you adequate room and light to work in. Trying to do everything on your back, torch held in mouth, head pressed tight against the footwell gets old real quick.
