Hole in muffler, need to replace
Well, I noticed my muffler developed a golf ball size hole on the drivers side, right behind the tire. I will have to fix this ASAP as my inspection is due soon.
Any one know a garage in the Northeast Philly area that is good for this? I usually go to the dealer(Holbert's), but I was hoping for somewhere closer and cheaper. Thanks in advance, Tim |
buy a used but in good shape one for way less than $100 and slap it on. there are a couple bolts on the front and rear hanger and the 3 holding the pipes together.

Unfortunately, I have a gravel driveway. Can this be done with out jacking up the car?

I got mine done by a local mufler shop who does custom work for the Japanese Car. I got two car done mufler and tail pipe and on my Son's car put straight pipe on the cat. for about $280.
My Son likes to make noise while Mine is more melow sound. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1234972086.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1234972161.jpg |
Are there any benefits to attaching either the muffler or the catalytic converter using clamps vs welding them together? I've always used clamps for ease of replacement.

clamps don't seal that well. and the pipes your're going to clamp need to be a good fit and overlap by a good chunk. i think normally they have flared pipes for that purpose.
i had my muffler and a cherry bomb clamped in for a while...but it just keep leaking from moving around. i finally just welded it all in. |
