Porsche Crest Bought my first Porsche!

So, I was looking at 944's for a while and posted asking for opinions about what to get for it, but I really wanted an 968, but couldn't find one in my price range. I stumbled across one a couple weeks ago an just bought it last Saturday! I thought I would share some pics of the car with you guys, any suggestions on things to get for the car? Its already got an anti sway in the front and rear, and I'm looking to get rid of the turbo twists in favor of some Cup wheels.

Welcome to Pelican & congrats on your ride choice, more infos will be appreciated such as -year/ mileage/colors/6 speeds or tip, will also like more pics of the interior & engine bay if possible.Looking at the pics you send the car look in darn good shape which are hard to get when shopping for a 968.Personally I like to keep mine as original as possible,up to date what I have done is install some Euro signals like (which to my taste look lot better than the US/CDN one, then lol I install a real steering wheel the 968 CS one,a little expensive but worth the money believe me.I also did the air boxe mod ,chip & K&N was already install when I bougth it so was the suspension which is very well sort out with M030 parts, once again question of taste but I think Cup I are one of the best looking wheel on any 968.If you want to know more about my car just visit my garage,in the meantime sending you a couple of pics, take care.

Congrats!
Looks like Indiana or Illinois by the weather & house styles, ya?
How are the back roads there in the Pcars? Flat/Straight or rolling & twisty?
How does the 968 contrast to the Careera in the garage?
Welcome..

Ill post some more pics this weekend when I get a chance, Im currently living in Milwaukee with one parking space, so the car is in my grandma's garage. Other info about the car: Its a 1992, original black car, 6 speed, with about 130,000 miles on it (the odometer was changed a few years ago). The previous owner put in a pretty nice blaupunkt stereo in it, Im not a huge stereo fan, but its nice; cosmetically, the car is probably about a 10 footer, some little paint chips, but nothing major body work wise. How much do euro lenses like that go for, assuming I can find them?

And yes VirginiaF1, Im from Indiana originally, thats where I have the car at the moment. There are some nice roads around, despite how flat a good part of the area is. The Carrera is my dad's, took that pic shortly after we got it home, hes on Pelican too, I forget his username.

You know, a Momo Race Steering wheel would sure look nice in there, especially with a Porsche badge horn button.

Some people try to turn back their "odometers." Not me. I want people to know 'why' I look this way. I've traveled a long way and some of the roads weren't paved.

Thanks guys for the compliments on the car, here are a few more pics of her! My next couple projects for the car are all interior related, there are a few places I have to re-glue carpet as a result of the sound system the previous owner had installed. I have a fire extinguisher and bracket on order, and a few other little parts as well. Will post as I finish things and detail the car more.

Thumbs up Envy factor hitting the stops!

That is a really nice motor

Looks like a good buy, congrats and hope your Porsche ownership experience is a long and good one!

The shifter looks like a early model Boxster one - but is not out-of-place.

Interior & engine bay look very nice for a 92,you can tell the car has been well taken care off.If you ever take the valve cover & spark plugs shroud off you can either easily powder coat or paint them, what is that cable for on top of the battery?

This car is way too nice for me Here in NE, the roads stink, the weather doesn't cooperate, rude drivers everywhere, and shopping carts just gravitate to me. Since I don't have a garage, I guess it just doesn't matter anyway. Very nice car though

Congrats on scoring a nice example of a 968. I have always loved these cars ever since driving one in Germany in 1993.

It was a 3 hour test drive in a 1993 968 CS in Arrow Blue. Back then the CS was the cheapest Porsche you could buy in Germany at around 78,000 DM (around 40,000 Euros). Now they are very sought after and I wish I could find a nice one for reasonable money.

I've seen many decent 968s for between $10K and $15K, but nice CS versions seem to be upwards of $30K.

Beautiful car! Love the DD wagon in the pic too!

Enjoy it, and welcome to the sickness! In a year you will have another pcar or two, and will be trolling on here for things to do.
