Same problem... new questions...
Last week I posted about a groaning noise coming from my power steering pump, and i was sure that it had somehting to do with a recent oil change, since the groaning noise came EXACTLY after I started the car when I got it off the lift after the change. What I didn't mention was that before the oil change, I swapped my exhaust off the car (replaced an aftermarket Cat-Back with a stock one). Anyway, the guy who welded the new system had me start and shut off the car numerous times to check for exhaust leaks and his welding job.
While searching this site for answers, I came across this... ![]() So now I think that all the rapid starting and stopping caused the fluid level in my reservoir to drop and I now probably have air in my system that is causing the loud groaning whenever I turn my wheel. So my next step is to bleed the system and try that. I can't find a procedure how to do it, but I pieced together some steps here and there. Here's what I'm planning on doing: - Start and shut off the car rapidly while making sure the fluid level in the reservoir stays high. - Lift the front wheels off the ground and turn the wheels all the way from left lock to right lock about 20 times, again while keeping an eye on the reservoir fluid level. Do I do that with the car running or off? Any other things I can do to help bleed the system efficiently? Thanks in advance for your help.
