Clunk
I hear a single loud clunk every time I move in reverse. I have thought about cv joints but most of the time they are described as clicking when cornering. I do not have any help as far as putting the car in reverse when on jack stands so what should I look for?
Thanks

That's how my cv joints started acting up. I had just bought the car and kept hearing the clunk going in reverse, but nothing else. The shop I trusted at the time replaced the radiator hoses and noted the noise but said they would have to diagnose it further to get an idea (I think that's their method of getting more money) After about a year and a half of driving I started hearing the ticking, especially in corners. I bought replacement axles with cv joints, replaced them both and now no noise and the car actually drives nicer. You could try to add grease to the cv joints and see if that quiets them down. If so, you'll eventually need to either replace or rebuild the joints.
