Problem with Maxhpkit 88NA chip

Chip is bugging out I ordered the 88'NA 93 Octane Chip.

Is this the chip or other issue.

Three Things wrong:

1. Car does not let me rev past 2.5K rpms
2. Car Shakes Violently if I try to take it past 2.5 rpms
3. Car speedometer does not read any faster than 60 mph (I know I was going faster)

The car feels like it's straving for gas or air at WOT
When I press pedal all the way to the floor hardly no acceleration in fact it gets worst.

Really wanted this chip to be My Holy grail for lost or unused power seems like more problems that solutions.

However the car goes through the gears alot faster and it pulls hard as hell at low speeds it's just when I get down on the trottle it starts to jerk and shudder and hickup.

On stock chip I can go well over 4500 rpms I just don't understand

What to do?

Hmmm Thats Odd, I have had great results with The MaxHP products. Have you checked all your connections at the ECU?? Is the chip in correctly?? are you running 93 octane?? I would send Russell a e-mail, Hes very helpfull and Im sure he will help you no problem

PHillary 05-18-2009 07:33 PM

Thanks for the reply your right Russell is great he said the chip is defective and he was going to send me another one asap.

Now that's good customer service

Can't wait to try new chip it just sucks taking my ECU out and in, more changes to damage something. Still can't wait though.

Customer service question:

How long between order and delivery? Any delays? Thanks,

PHillary 05-19-2009 06:05 PM

For me order was three days tops I live in New York so I probably got it a little quicker than most.

rberry951 08-18-2009 10:30 PM

As it turns out, the chip was not defective at all, it turned out to be his fuel pump and a few other issues...

Orders are processed daily, shipments are typically made within 24 hours of receipt of payment.

Hope you have your car back on the road soon Paul!

Regards,
Russell

yeah - that sounded odd to me - chips don't usually go bad, and when they do, they don't work at all

glad that got sorted out

rberry951 08-19-2009 06:32 AM

Unfortunately, electronic components do have a life cycle, and will indeed one day go bad. These cars are all over 20 years old. Over the next decade, many of them are going to just stop running. This will be bad for many owners... But for the people like me who have every stock chip imaged on file, business will be booming! :)

The standard 85.5-87 944MAX, unless you want the 93 octane version, the the 944MAXR

Russell

The differences between the 944MAX and the 944MAXR series is mainly in the WOT map, chips are the same price, but you can expect 2-4 more RWHP from the R series. With the standard 944MAX you'll get 8-12RWHP across the power curve, much better mid range power in the part throttle maps with both, as well as better fuel economy. Keep in mind these numbers have been seen on cars I've dyno'd and tuned personally, without cats. So if you have a cat you'll get a bit less, and you need to let me know when ordering if you have a cat.

Regards,
Russell

Russ, the 88MAXR still runs like a scalded cat in my car... A+!

Schumi 08-19-2009 06:24 PM

This is my next spring's project. Cat Delete and the 944MAXR chip.

Sounds like business is good Russell. Congrats.

Thanks Schumi, it's been a little over 3 years since I started marketing the chip products, and to date there's MAXhpkit chips in over 800 cars around the globe!

This past year has been a little slow, as the US economy woes have effected everyone. People just haven't had the money to spend on their cars. If there was some way I could get some stimulus package money I'd have a half-off sale to help people who don't have the extra cash right now. But I don't qualify. I have run some sales here and there, and even at 50-75 dollars off that has put product in some people's budgets. I will probably have more in the near future.

Regards,
Russell

Russell,

How much are the chips? I am interested and taking some time off of work. So I am looking for some cost effective "fun things" for the car to help keep my interest while I make all the other repairs. :)

Thanks again Russ for holding my hand and sticking by your product 100% alot of small business owners and cooperations can take notes on your customer service.

Does this mean even the 944MAX was optimised for no cat, or just the R spec chip? I finally got an extra Y-pipe to make a test pipe out of. It would be cool if it is actually proven to help.
